Extended Rearfacing Group 1

Rearfacing Group 1 seats or also called extended rearfacing seats keep your child rearfacing for longer. This system came to prominence in Norway and Sweden where all children now rearface until at least 3 years old. This has been proven to be 4 to 5 times safer in a frontal collision than a forward facing seat. The disadvantage is that generally they take up more room in the  back of the car and tend to minimize the room for the front passenger seat. More manufacturers are now moving over to this system as consumers become aware of its safety benefits and it becomes more accepted.
