Group 1
Group 1 seats are for children from 9 -18kg in weight or approx 12months to 4 years. These come in various forms either belt fitted in the car or using the Isofix system (invented by Britax but adopted by the EEC and now fitted to all new models of car within Europe). Within these varieties there are two types of fitting for restraining the child. Either the more traditional 5 point harness fitting (i.e. waist, shoulder and crutch harness) or using the newer bolster system being adopted by the German manufacturers including Kiddy, Concord, Cybex and Recaro.
